Rob Brown
I've spent 15+ years fixing broken processes with data.
Now I help small businesses do the same.
The Story
Process is the problem
I started my career on manufacturing floors — running Kaizen events, mapping value streams, and challenging the status quo. At NCR, that meant redesigning production lines. At Boeing, it meant automating missile defense test workflows and building predictive models that saved over $20 million.
The pattern was always the same: the process was the problem, not the tools.
I carried that lesson into healthcare at MUSC, where I built NLP pipelines on electronic health records to improve medical coding and care quality. Then to NORC, where I led data modernization for federal research programs and helped shape the organization's AI adoption strategy.
Along the way, I earned a Doctorate in Cybersecurity Analytics, Master's degrees in both Data Science and Systems Engineering, and a Six Sigma Black Belt. But the most important thing I learned isn't in any classroom — it's that the best technology in the world can't fix a broken process.
With the rise of AI and large language models, something shifted. What used to require a full team can now be prototyped by one person with the right discipline. That's why I started Keep it Simple Analytics — to bring enterprise-level process thinking and rapid prototyping to small businesses who need it most but could never afford it before.
I'm a lifetime learner and a strong believer in continuous improvement. If your workflow is costing you time, money, or sanity, let's figure out why — and fix it.
What I Believe
Three principles. Every project.
Process First
Understand what you have before buying what you don’t need. Every engagement starts with mapping your current workflow.
Prototype Fast
Don’t commit to a full build until you’ve validated the idea. A working proof-of-concept in weeks beats a perfect plan that never ships.
Keep It Simple
The right solution is the simplest one that works. No vendor lock-in, no unnecessary complexity, no tools collecting dust.
